Ringing in the New Year in 2026, the DK&F club will feature as our dinner speaker Mr. John W. Hamm, a Hollywood Movie insider expert, who will be giving us the inside story on how movie producer George Lucas, through many trials and tribulations, created the famous movie American Graffiti on a shoestring budget, that launched the careers of many Hollywood stars like Ron Howard and Richard Dreyfuss.
The movie can be found on Netflix and Prime video, so you can watch the whole movie before the dinner program and then get all the insider scope and back-story of the making of this famous movie from 1973 from our speaker John W. Hamm.

Ken Hersh
Ken Hersh, a well known writer and speaker will discuss topics ranging from economics
and geopolitics to the energy industry and financial markets. He is an outstanding lecturer
who has received the Horatio Alger Award , World Affairs Council’s Neil Mallon Award, Henry Cohn
Humanitarian Award, Ernest C. Arbuckle Award, and Frank Pitts Energy Leadership Award.
Mr. Ken Hersh, is coming to DK&F and it is an honor to have him speak at our club. He served as CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-partisan institution housing the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the George W. Bush Institute, with a mission of promoting policy solutions and public engagement to ensure opportunity for all, strengthen democracy, and advance free societies. He will retire in September 2025, but will remain on the George W. Bush Foundation board. He was awarded the Horatio Alger Award, and will be discussing and covering today’s most pressing issues in economics, geopolitics and energy.
He is the Co-Founder and former CEO of NGP Energy Capital Management, one of the largest natural resources private equity investment firms, managing over $20 billion of cumulative committed capital since 1988. NGP is recognized as the pioneer of energy private equity, developing a business plan to invest in the energy field that, today, has been replicated by dozens of firms worldwide. From 1988 until 2016, under his leadership, NGP invested over $12 billion and earned a 27-year annualized rate of return of 30%, making it one of the nation’s leading private equity firms. From 2012 until 2023, he was a Senior Advisor to the Carlyle Group’s natural resources division. In 2023, the Oil and Gas Investor magazine inducted Ken into its Hart Energy Hall of Fame as one of the top 50 “pioneering men and women who have shaped energy over the last half century.”

As you settle into your dinner seats and await for the unfolding of the drama to begin, the actors will be in character, mingling among the guests and assigning roles to 8-12 DK&F individuals as “suspects”. Keep your wits about you, one of them may hold the key to solving the mystery!
Prepare to crack the code with Dallas’s live Murder Mystery Company. The group will immerse you in an interactive experience where you’ll become the detective, gathering clues and solving crimes alongside their talented actors for an evening of fun and mystery you won’t forget. The evening’s performance will offer a unique blend of suspense and humor, so get ready for an evening of entertainment that will keep you captivated from start to finish.
The Murder Mystery Company will present the Case of a Lifetime (8 actors) “Best Laid Plans”. This is an old Hollywood “who done it.” You will be thrown into a night of mystery, intrigue, and murder you will never forget. The group was on the TV show Shark Tank and since then have skyrocketed to fame and national acclaim.

John Michael Hinton, is a Penn and Teller award winning magician who captivated and delighted DK&F in 2023. He has become a nationwide headliner and sensation. His unique style of close-up magic for the stage uses everyday objects to accomplish impossible feats right before your eyes. His return to performance at DK&F in April of 2026 will be a season highlight. Be prepared to be awed and wowed by this incredibly talented magician!
