Dr. Calvin Jillson
SMU Professor of Political Science

Dr. Jillson is widely regarded on his ability to research the available data following a U.S. Presidential Election and find the strategic insights and explanatory changes in voting patterns that yielded the electoral outcome. He does this in a non-partisan fashion and then presents his findings to audiences both large and small. The Dallas Knife & Fork Club is excited that Dr. Jillson will let us in on his findings related to this historic 2024 presidential election. As a scholar of American politics, Dr. Jillson shares his knowledge of how government and politics work, in particular the development of American institutions and ideas and how they continue to shape national debates. He earned a doctorate in government and politics in 1979 from the University of Maryland and has been teaching about American politics since 1976. Since moving to Texas in the mid-1990s, he has charted the rise to power of President George W. Bush and has written extensively on U.S. and Texas politics. From 1996 to 2001, he was chair of the SMU Political Science Department and directed the Tower Center for Political Studies, which examines domestic politics and national security issues. Goga Denisov – Goga Music

April 16, 2025

Goga’s notable activities include opening for Earth Wind and Fire Band for a private event in Houston TX. Opening for Cindy Lauper at a private fundraiser in Dallas, TX. Goga performs on a regular basis at premier places around Dallas Texas, and Los Angeles, CA. such as the the Mansion On Turtle Creek, Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, Hotel Zaza, Ocean Prime, the Joule Hotel , and many others. Learn more about Goga Denisov and listen to his broad range of vocal styles at GogaMusic.com.

Goga never quite figured if he prefers the Raspy or Clear colors of his voice. That in turn became his greatest strength; over the years perfecting and expanding his vocal range, Goga can now use different timbres of his voice depending on a song. He studied classical and jazz piano since the age of 7, played the guitar for more than 15 years. Goga’s unique baritone voice on the lower notes has a silky flavor, similar to Michael McDonnald and Sting. On the high notes it becomes as clear as a bell, like Operatic Tenor singers. Goga’s enthusiasm on stage is contagious. You feel that he has fun performing, and the passion that he puts into every phrase of every song makes his shows a special experience.
